Pratim writes in both English and Bengali. He has contributed chapters to books edited by leading experts and authored research papers and reports in his key interest areas of neighbourhood studies, regional cooperation, trade and connectivity, renewable energy, the Northeast, etc.

Pratim prefers his mother tongue Bengali for literary works. He authored a book of short stories and writes humour columns in Bengali newspapers.
